# Pages

## Overview

This document covers the fundamental steps needed to create and duplicate pages, as well as how to configure basic layout options to enhance the presentation and usability of your documentation. By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your documentation is well-organized, visually appealing, and easy to navigate.

The Page type is a flexible option for adding documentation and/or content. With a Page, you can easily create text-rich pages, embed media such as images and videos, and incorporate various types of content. Pages are perfect for documenting information, writing articles, and even documenting design tokens, which are key elements of your design system.

### Creating a new page

Creating a new page in your Knapsack workspace is straightforward. This section walks you through the simple steps required to add a new page:

1. Navigate to the primary or a secondary navigation menu.
2. Click on the "Add New" button and choose "Page".
3. Enter the title for your new page and configure any initial settings.
4. Click "Add Page" to add the new page to your documentation.

### Duplicate an Existing Page

Duplicating an existing page can save time and ensure consistency across similar content. This section provides instructions on how to duplicate a page:

1. Hover over the page you want to duplicate in the sidebar.
2. Click the "Duplicate" option from the dropdown menu.
3. A copy of the page will be created with the same content and layout settings.
4. Rename and adjust the new page as necessary to fit your needs.

### Basic Layout Options

Configuring the layout of your pages is essential for creating clear and engaging documentation. This section covers the basic page layout options available in Knapsack:

1. **Page Header Text:** Customize the header text to provide a clear and concise title for your page.
2. **Background Colors:** Set background colors to match your brand guidelines or to highlight specific sections of your page.
