# Deploy Previews (Per PR Deployments)

> * Enabling **Deploy Previews** incurs additional hosting costs through Heroku.
> * These costs are **passed directly to customers who request this feature**.
> * Please coordinate with your **Account Executive** or **Customer Success Manager** to understand the billing impact.

## Overview

Development teams need a reliable way to evaluate changes **before they become part of the main product**—whether it's **new features, bug fixes, or updates**. Traditionally, this has required setting up a dedicated **staging environment**, but that approach can be **time-consuming, complex, and often doesn't fully replicate the live environment**.

**Deploy Previews simplify this process.**

With Deploy Previews, your team can:

* **Preview, test, and share** proposed changes in an isolated, production-like environment
* **Run quality assurance (QA) checks** before merging changes
* **Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT)** with stakeholders
* **Accelerate the feedback loop**, reducing delays in development

This ensures changes are **thoroughly vetted before they reach production**, minimizing unexpected issues and streamlining collaboration.

By enabling Deploy Previews, your team gains a **faster, more reliable, and more efficient** workflow—without the burden of managing complex staging environments. 🚀

### Activating Review Apps for your Knapsack workspace

**Before we dive into the details, it's important to note:**

* Enabling this feature requires the creation of a separate Heroku team account for your workspace.
* This is done to ensure that the additional resources consumed by Review Apps (like dynos) are properly managed and isolated to your application.
* We will invite you to your new Heroku team account as a part of this flow.

Once everything is configured, **we forward the billing for the additional costs associated with the Review Apps feature to you**. This is to ensure that you maintain complete control over your resources and can directly monitor any additional charges.

Please work with your **Account Executive** or **Customer Success Manager** to set up the proper billing workflow and gain the necessary approvals.

### **Getting Started**

The following steps will guide you through the process of enabling Review Apps for your Knapsack workspace:

1. **Initiating the process:** To start the journey towards enabling Review Apps in your Knapsack workspace, please send an email to [help@knapsack.cloud](mailto:help@knapsack.cloud). This will create a ticket to track the process.
2. **Heroku Team Creation:** We will invite you to your new Heroku team account.
3. **Repository Access:** If we don't currently have direct access to your repository—we'll need to collaborate with a member of your team who has administrative access to the repository.
4. **Adjusting the Workspace:** After securing the necessary permissions, we'll proceed to tweak your Knapsack workspace to complete the installation process based on your repo provider:
